Chapter Opportunities

PGA Junior League offers 9U (ages 7–9), 13U (ages 7–13), and 17U (ages 14–17) divisions. Participants compete in two-player teams using a scramble format, with 9U playing 3-hole matches and 13U and 17U playing 9-hole matches.

First Tee – Pittsburgh offers PGA Junior League teams at Bob O’Connor Golf Course (Pittsburgh), All About Golf (Butler), and Victory Hills Golf Course (Elizabeth) during the Spring Session and teams at the Bob O’Connor Golf Course only during the Fall Session.

During the Spring season, our 13U teams compete in home-and-away matches throughout the regular season. At the conclusion of the season, both the 13U and 17U divisions select All-Star teams to represent First Tee – Pittsburgh in the National PGA Junior League postseason. 

Registration for the Spring/Summer season begins in January. Registration for Fall begins in August.

The Junior Advisory Board (JAB) gives First Tee – Pittsburgh participants the opportunity to work alongside staff and help shape the future of the organization. Members provide valuable participant perspective and long-term strategic input while helping design, create, and support activities and initiatives for fellow participants.

To be eligible, participants must be at least 13 years old and have been actively enrolled in First Tee – Pittsburgh programming for at least two years.

The Women’s Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania (WGAWP) hosts this annual golf clinic for girls ages 8–18 at Oakmont Country Club each spring. The event provides participants with a unique opportunity to receive golf instruction, meet other young golfers, and experience one of the region’s premier golf facilities.

Online registration typically opens in early spring, and the clinic is limited to 70 participants. The $50 registration fee (subject to change) includes golf instruction, snacks, favors, a group photo, and a putting contest. Advance registration is required.

All participants, parents, and guardians attending the clinic are required to follow Oakmont Country Club’s dress code.

These private club playing and practice opportunities give skilled First Tee – Pittsburgh participants ages 13 and older the chance to experience golf in settings they may not normally have access to.

Hosted at premier clubs throughout the greater Pittsburgh area, these sessions provide participants with exposure to championship-level facilities, different course conditions, and new playing environments that can help challenge their skills and broaden their golf experience.

Past opportunities have included sessions at Allegheny Country Club, Edgewood Country Club, Oakmont Country Club, Longue Vue Club, Fox Chapel Golf Club, and Westmoreland Country Club.

Locations and availability vary from season to season and are subject to change based on club schedules, course conditions, and other factors.

First Tee – Pittsburgh hosts Participant Invitational tournaments at the Bob O’Connor Golf Course throughout the year, giving participants the opportunity to test their skills in a fun, competitive environment.

Events are typically offered during the spring, summer, and fall seasons and feature four playing divisions: 3-Hole (Short), 3-Hole (Long), 6-Hole, and 9-Hole. Each division recognizes both a Boys Champion and Girls Champion.

Participants select the division that best matches their current skill level and playing experience when registering. These events provide a great opportunity for participants to gain tournament experience, challenge themselves, and continue progressing toward longer and more competitive formats.

First Tee Ambassadors represent First Tee – Pittsburgh at special events and community opportunities throughout the year. Ambassadors may participate in chapter events, golf industry gatherings, fundraising activities, and other opportunities where they serve as representatives of the organization.

Participants selected to serve as First Tee Ambassadors are expected to consistently demonstrate the Five Key Commitments to Becoming a Game Changer and represent First Tee – Pittsburgh in a positive, respectful, and professional manner.

Ambassadors should also be comfortable interacting with adults and community partners at an age-appropriate level and be prepared to share their First Tee experience with others.
